First Annual A Day at the Lake

A year in the making, celebrating our first anniversary and end of the 20-year War Against Terror.
On September 11, 2021, Reveille Bridge Veterans Foundation served up an amazing day of food and fun for about 50 Veterans and their families. Our very own Lee Maples, Activities Director, put on a superb showing. Lee and Eric Dale, both Air Force Veterans, showed the spirit of “Aim High” when they planned and executed a day to remember.

Speaking of food, we had hamburgers, hot dogs, turkey legs, baked beans, potato salad, and fresh, unshucked corn. We had so much food, we were able to take our leftovers to the Norman Veterans Center. The first and second shift staff along with all the Veterans had a bar-b-que on September 12th. There was even enough leftover for the staff to take home and feed their families. Now, that’s what we call a blessing from God, being able to feed so many people with such fantastic food.
Our National Anthem was sung by Aiya Attaway Kelley. This lady can really sing and should go on America’s Got Talent.
As I look back at the event, I couldn’t have hoped for a better day. The temperature was in the 90’s but the wind and shade kept us cool.
Our raffle winners were Savannah Staal, Rick Abbas, and Aiya Attaway Kelley.
